It’s that time of year again! The airports are packed, traffic is in abundance, and the train schedules are unpredictable. The holiday season should be a season of love and joy, so we thought we’d provide some tips for your holiday travels that will help relieve the stress of traveling.
Be strategic about your flight/travel timing.
If you have flexible time for travel, make sure you are traveling days before the holiday to ensure cheaper flights and less airport traffic. Saving money and avoiding the crowd is a win-win.
Try to avoid flights with layovers.
Flight cancellations and delays are bound to happen during the holiday season. Want to eliminate the stress of traveling to your final destination? It’s best to avoid layovers altogether.
Pack light (or try to).
The less stuff you have, the less likely your baggage will get lost and the less you have to carry around. Do you really need four outfit choices for your Aunt Sharon’s Christmas party? The answer is no.
Think ahead of TSA.
How many times have you traveled? You know the rules by now. Make sure you are planning ahead of TSA/airport security. No liquids over 3 ounces, take those shoes off, put your laptop/electronics in a separate bin, etc. People tend to be impatient in airport security because traveling can be stressful so just brush up on the rules and regulations of carry-on luggage, and you can avoid delaying yourself and others in the security line.
Check-in to your flight before you get to the airport.
Checking in to your flight online before arriving at the airport can save you loads of airport time. We all have smartphones, right? Most airlines have an app that makes the online check-in super easy. Technology is there to make our lives more convenient so avoid waiting in the check-in line and just do it online.
We hope these 5 tips for holiday season travel makes your life easier and stress-free this season! Happy travels. 🙂
